Timaru Pink Ribbon Women’s Duathlon

Sunday 20 September 2009

Levels International Motor Raceway Timaru

Proceeds to the NZ Breast Cancer Foundation.

Thank you to everyone who took part in this year's event - a fantastic day, with bright sunshine and no wind.

Congratulations if this was your first duathlon, and special mention of Team New World - Angela Phillips and Loren Bosomworth who were awarded the inaugural "Why not Tri? Why I Tried Cup" who fundraised $372 for the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation.

We have not yet received photos so will post them when we can, but results are shown - follow the link above.

Thank you to our sponsors and congratulations if you won a spot prize.

Thank you to the Emerald Gems Netball Team and the Timaru Cycling Club and others for volunteering on the day.

We look forward to seeing you at next year's event which is tentatively scheduled for Sunday 19 September 2010 (to be confirmed).

Need a challenge to help you get out, get active and have a go?  Then dust off those winter cobwebs and spring into the Timaru Pink Ribbon Women’s Duathlon.

This is an event for all women and girls regardless of your age, size, shape or (most importantly) fitness level. If you want to challenge and push yourself to achieve a goal, then you should give it a go.

You don’t have to be a gym bunny to enter as this is a fun relaxed event involving running (or walking) and cycling (no swimming!)  The course is flat but challenging and will prove a test for everyone from serious athletes to first timer’s!

If you are not keen to tackle it alone, you are also able to enter as a team of two making it a great event to do with your girlfriends, mothers, sisters and daughters! Imagine the smiles, emotion, and satisfaction when you cross that finish line!   Entries open 1 June.

Come on down and get involved!   Good fun, great cause and heaps of spot prize giveaways. You will be thrilled at what you can achieve by participating in a Duathlon – Yes you can do it!

And a portion of every entry fee goes to the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation to help provide FREE community education, research, medical grants and scholarships, seminars, a breast cancer patient register as well as advocacy.
